About Runway

Runway was one of the first companies to put video generation in the hands of creators, and it is still the pick for people who want to direct every detail. Beyond its own video models it offers tools for character performance, camera control and editing, which is why it shows up on film and ad productions.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Fine control over camera, motion and characters
  • Editing tools built around every generation
  • Consistent characters across shots

Watch out for

  • Credits run out quickly on paid plans
  • The free plan is a one-time allowance
